Basil Pesto
This classic green sauce is a great way to bring flavour to a variety of dishes while equally perfect with simple cheese and crackers. This recipe uses up a bunch of basil if your herb garden is bursting but is do-able with a blend of basil and other tender greens like baby spinach. Reduce waste and blend up some pesto!
Ingredients
2 c loosely packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 c olive oil
1-2 medium galic cloves, minced
1/4 c chopped nuts - walnuts, almonds
1/2 c (~2 oz) Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
