LEAF® and Polycystic
Ovary Syndrome
LEAF® and PCOS program is currently recruiting
LEAF® WMC and Research
As part of LEAF® WMC’s ongoing commitment to supporting individuals living with obesity, we are involved in research projects with partners in the healthcare community. Our participation in these projects helps our community benefit from the knowledge gained for the promotion of healthy weight management strategies. It also means that our clients who agree to participate in one of our research projects can sometimes benefit from reduced costs of participating in LEAF® WMC programs.

LEAF® and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Many people experience Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and obesity together. Weight loss is known to improve PCOS-related symptoms to some extent for many people. The medical community is keen to learn more about how to improve symptoms through weight loss, including the optimum amount of weight to lose as well as which weight-loss approach works best for alleviating symptoms.

Participation in LEAF® Research Programs Benefits Many
Participants will follow a 6-month lifestyle program including diet, exercise and partial meal replacement. Some clients may also receive weight loss medication. PCOS outcomes will be assessed at the start of the study, throughout the program and 6 months after the end of the program. Participants will be required to do blood work, fill out questionnaires and attend 6-month lifestyle program sessions and participate in a post-program follow-up.
The cost of the program for study participants is free. Meal replacements and weight loss medication costs are additional costs for program participants.
