Fruit Lax

Makes 25 2tbsp portions

When making changes to your eating pattern, you may experience a shift in your bowel pattern. Not to fear.  This home-made fruit laxative is gentle and effective for occasional constipation. With fruits that naturally contain both fibre and stool softening & stimulating properties, you’ll be back on track in no time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted prunes

  • 1 cup raisins

  • 1 cup dates

  • 1/2 cup orange juice

  • 2/3 c prune juice

  • Optional

  • 1/4 c ground flax seeds

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and soak overnight in the fridge. The next day, using a blender or food processor, blend until smooth. Transfer to a container with lid and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. To use: add 2 Tbsp to toast, a serving of hot cereal or a portion of yogurt. daily.
